Well,
I finally got the word from above that I was allowed to show pics of
the props from Trenches, so here they are! Sadly, they're in no particular
order, but you can see all the cool stuff we had to make and got to
play with on set.
Here's
the list of people involved in the making of these props, huge, HUGE
thanks to them for all their hard work:
Matt
Worsdell, Tony Bassi, Little 1's Leather, Graham Groff and Randy Kent.
Here's
Hong checking out her Sniper Rifle for the first time. Matt actually
had to go back and cut the barrel down by about 12" when we found
out how tall Hong actually was. Otherwise she would have been carrying
a rifle that was taller than her!
Our
prop area set up for the first day of filming.
Bonnie,
the PA guarding the guns and helping make holsters.
Drayce's
BFG. Oh, how many times Orlando begged to be able to keep this rifle
when filming was over!
The
Kuzaa Heavy Anti-Infantry Weapons.
A
box of Kuzaa SCS Carbines.
And
the Kuzaa SCS Sniper Variant.
Rossdale
Evac Beacons. These are used to transport the troops to and from the
surface and to call down the Evac ships. One of the units was actually
rigged to light up in sequence (Green, Yellow, and Red) as the troops
were being transported, but since they were filming in bright daylight,
the lights were completely obscured.
The
"guts" of the Beacons. They also light up, but again, could
not be seen in the bright daylight. All that work for nothing.
Guns,
guns, guns! Here you can see a huge mix of props, Kuzaa Sniper Rifles,
Kuzaa Infantry Rifles, Rossdale Infantry Rifles (including Hero, Background
and Stunt versions), Rossdale Evac Rifles, and even some Rossdale Grenades.
One
of my favorite props from the film, here's the Rossdale Comm Unit, with
3D holographic GPS mapping system.
Piles
of body parts! Many of these are recycled from our old films, going
all the way back to Solomon's Requiem.
Drayce's
weapon and helmet.
Body
parts!
These
are actually fingers that I made when I was in College! And now they've
grown up and are in a movie!
This
was Graham's favorite bit. He had the arm holding on to the pole, and
right behind the pole was an explosive that went off and singed the
arm very nicely.
And
here's Graham with his scorched arm.
