Big
thanks to Michelle and Rich for getting these tickets!
Now,
we all heard about there being a bunch of places showing the entire
Lord Of The Rings Trilogy in one long day, but when I heard about the
one being held by the Film Society of Lincoln Center, I had to jump
in! Not only were they showing the Trilogy, but afterwards there would
be a Q and A with the Director and members of the cast! How could you
pass something like that up? You can't!
It
was a cold day! On the way to Lincoln Center, Heather and I spotted
steam rising off the water!
Of course,
by the time we got the camera out, we were near La Guardia, and the
steam had stopped, but it was wild to see!
So true...
Of course, I've been a member since '95. :)
In between
each film, a member of the cast would come out and say a few words about
the film, their role in it, and other, less interesting things. Here's
Bernard Hill (Theoden) chatting away.
Andy
Serkis (Gollum/Smeagol) singing in the Smeagol voice. It was quite hilarious!
Here's
our crew, Rich, Natalie, Heather and me!
After
Return Of The King, the entire group came out to answer questions. They
also had Peter Jackson live via Satellite from New Zealand.
Peter
Jackson's big, giant head! See the video at the bottom of this page
for a really funny clip!
Sean
Astin (Sam) telling his stories, and being frightened by Peter Jackson's
big, giant head!
Bernard
Hill.
Elijah
Wood (Frodo) looking very un-hobbit-like.
Andy
Serkis (Gollum) explaining how he's looking forward to wearing pants
in his next role!
All
in all, a really great (loooong) day watching movies. One thing, they
need much more comfortable seats in the Alice Tully Hall if they expect
people to sit for 10 hours of movies!!
And
here's a movie of some great King Kong action from Peter Jackson and
the rest of the crew! This video will be here as long as I have the
room to host it, it is pretty big. One day I may just delete it!
