First off, know that cutting through the hardened steel of a Steel Pot helmet is NOT easy. These helmets are made to deflect bullets and shrapnel, so cutting them takes time. It's messy, dirty, dangerous work and not meant for someone who is unfamiliar with using these kinds of tools. You can seriously hurt yourself if your hand slips with a dremel.

Be sure to only cut steel in a safe place. Work only in a place with proper ventilation. Wear a respirator. Wear eye protection. Wear heavy work gloves. And be sure that there is nothing in the area that you are working in that might ignite from the sparks that will be produced from cutting the steel. This includes the clothes that you are wearing.

Here are the basic parts you'll need to complete your helmet. All are available in the SpatCave Store!
Use your Dremel to cut the segment for the ear flap to fit.
Drill your holes in the plastic parts and align them where they need to be on the helmet. Use a marker to mark where the holes need to go.
Make sure the slot is big enough for the ear flap to fit in!
Cut the holes with the dremel. Basically, you'll be cutting square holes, 2 slots vertically and 2 slots horizontally.
Align and mark the front lobe plate.
Align and mark the camera.
Here they are marked.
And cut.
Use the heat gun to carefully put a slight bend in the large Lobster Plate.
Mark where the slots will go.
Cut the slots into the back of the helmet.
Cut the slots into the plates.
Then rivet everything together and you're all set!
