"Hammerhead" Mask

This is a custom mask made for the Revalations Film Shoot.

Eric and I had been thinking about making one of these for quite a while, but just never got around to it.

But when the Revalations Film Shoot was coming up, it gave us some incentive. One day, Eric showed up with a finished under frame for the Hammerhead, so we decided to give it a shot.

Here's Eric's under frame.

We cut foam sheets down and hot glued them to the frame.

Once that was done, we used gaffer's tape to build up the edges and make it all nice and even.

Eric testing the pantyhose.

We also taped on some more foam to raise certain areas to make them stand out a bit more.

Tony seems to like the pantyhose as well!

We built up the sides where the mouth is with another line of foam.

Then we popped in the eyes to make sure they fit.

We built up the area around the eyes to look more like eyelids, again using the tape.

A little more tape for good measure....

Then we taped down some string to make it look like veins.

We covered the entire thing in the pantyhose to give it more of a skin texture.

Then covered that with liquid latex.

And here it is covered with about 4 layers of latex.

We decided on using black eyes, and popped them in after painting.

And here's the completed mask, ready to head down to the shoot!
