So this story actually begins quite a while ago. Probably back in like 2009 when Barry "Bazza" Wernick and Matthew Spradlin sat down and wrote a series of 4 comic books called "Bad Kids Go To Hell". Later, they were released as a graphic novel and the boys took it on the road to Comic Cons to promote it.
At the time, I was working at Wizard and the guys booked a table for one of the cons. At the show I spotted Bazza walking around with his little suitcase, completely lost, so I helped him out and showed him where to go and got him set up in his booth.
At later cons, I saw them again and at one point gave them some advice on making more of a presence (booth babes, give-aways, etc.). And at some point they mentioned to me that they were planning to turn the comics into a movie. I knew it was horror based, so mentioned that I was an F/X Make-Up Artist in addition to being an awesome Convention Organizer!! They promised that when they made the movie, they would use me for make-up, and I absolutely didn't believe them.
I figured it was either a complete pipe dream and they were never going to make a movie, or if they did, they would totally forget about me and use someone else.
Well, in 2011 they proved me wrong! They were in pre-production and wanted me to fly down to Austin, TX and supply the bloody touch that the movie needed!!
Here's the Trailer for Bad Kids Go To Hell the movie. As I write this, the movie is set to open in 2 days!
The film stars Judd Nelson, Ben Browder, Spat Oktan, Marc Donato, Ali Faulkner, Augie Duke, Amanda Alch, Roger Edwards, Chanel Ryan and many more!!
And here are some pics of some of the events that were going on behind the scenes while I was down there!!
I had about 2 weeks to prep and pack up my gear to bring down to film.
Making some silicone glass for the production!
Once I arrived in Austin, Bazza and Alyssa picked me up and took me on a mini tour (I had never been to Texas before) and shopping excursion! Here's the famous tower from the shooting spree.
