"When I first decided on getting a set of Colonial Marine armor I was faced with two choices. First was a set of John Riddel fiberglass armor and secondly a set of vacc formed Sparmor. I opted for the M-3 body armor made by spat or affectionately called "Sparmor" by the lucky ones of us who own a set. I e-mailed Spat with a few questions and pricing info and was very happy at how fast and courteous spat was in replying and putting up with my newbieness with aliens costuming. I had seen all the pics on his site heard the reviews from fellow customers who had sets of Spat's armor and decided to take the plunge and outfit myself with the "Sparmor". As I waited for my armor to ship (made to order) Spat was very gracious to not only keep in touch with me but to also send me many pictures of my armor through its various stages of construction! Spat also does in house camo paint jobs on your armor and completely finishes your suit so that once you open the box all you have to do is put it on. Once I got my package and opened it up I immediately noticed the awesome cast of the helmet cam and mic / earpiece unit! And not only that but Spat uses real steel pot helmets not cheap plastic crap or splintery fiberglass knock offs! After I got over the initial awe of the great looking helmet I dug out the armor and almost fell out at how great it looked! It was almost dead-on to what I had seen in aliens! The armor is very sturdy and comfortable to wear, all the strapping is included with pistol belt to boot. The straps are all riveted onto the armor and attaches with big black snaps. After I had my armor a few days I decided to buy a set of humbrol paints (as used on the original movie armor) and repainted my armor and added my own personal graffiti to it. Now I have to coolest costume I have owned thanks to spat and his great armor making. Thanks spat!"
